The Man Who Turned Into a Fish
By Nad Munchkin Productions

Floating on waves of whimsy and casting into the darkness of the deep, Mad Munchkin Productions brings you the tale of a boy turning man, a life teetering with obsession, and an overflowing heart skating between land and water. Conceived by Mad Munchkin co-founder, Alan Pagel, in the form of a dream, this production was collaboratively written by the whole Mad Munchkin company. The story is brought to life with puppets of different sizes and varying forms and accompanied by a rich score and live music. This exploration on the magical power of transformation and the desire to connect in our huge ocean of a world makes The Man Who Turned Into a Fish a journey not to be missed.

May Day Workshops
with In the Heart of the Beast Puppet and Mask Theatre

Help Build the Puppets for the Parade!
During the month of April, our building is transformed into a giant studio where staff artists and volunteers create the MayDay Parade. Workshops are free and open to the public.
How it Works:
- An artist will introduce you to the parade theme by showing you the giant storyboard (a visual script).
- You select a section of the parade to work on, find the artist in charge of that section, and set to work!
- Artists will guide you.
- You can either make your own creation which you can keep after the parade, or help with the larger parade floats.
- Typically, you'll need 3 or 4 sessions to complete a project, but you can come to as many or as few as your schedule allows.
- Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult.
- Wear "painting" clothes.
- Bring recycled items (if you can): small plastic tubs with lids, brown paper bags, newspapers, fabric, sheets, latex paint, bamboo, scissors.

April 7 - May 3, 2012
Saturdays, 9 - 11 am and 1 - 3 pm
Tuesdays and Thursdays, 7 - 9 pm

Toy Theatre After Dark @ Open Eye Figure Theatre
Presented by Open Eye Figure Theatre

A week of miniature puppetry spectacle, classes, discussions, and networking
Intimate, inventive, and wonderfully odd, toy theater has enjoyed a resurgence in recent years, especially in the Twin Cities. From shows-in-a-suitcase, paper marionettes, and wearable theater to shadow plays, and weird object animation, a new wave of theater miniaturists is captivating audiences with fresh approaches to an old art form. The Award-winning Open Eye Figure Theatre began showcasing the burgeoning local scene in 2006, and now hosts an annual festival to present short, new pieces from local and national artists. Two distinctly different programs offer a stunning spectrum of miniature puppetry and innovative thinking, featuring the far flung and home grown, the seasoned and the emerging.

April 13 - 21

Tickets: Adults $18 ; Students and Seniors $15, Children $12
